Personal Statement

Now more than ever, it is clear that one's mental health must be nurtured. It is my belief that mental health is just as important to one's well being as one's physical health, if not more so. We must allow ourselves the opportunity to achieve emotional and mental clarity in order to promote positive change. Having the opportunity to discuss one's feelings in a relaxed and non-judgmental atmosphere is something that I take seriously as a clinician. I view the therapist-client relationship as a very special one, which I feel requires a mutual respect towards the process of healing.

Personal Statement

The desire to seek change by an individual or family is why most people seek treatment. Working with a view of being empathetic and understanding in the therapeutic relationship allows clients to uncover strengths and motivation that they didn't feel were there. No matter if it is a child who has difficulty going to school consistently, an adult who is seeking stability and understanding of their life, or a family in need of guidance and structure, it is essential that a therapeutic space provides a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment. While seeking treatment the relationships between the therapist and client is essential and provides the foundation for growth. As a Clinical Social Worker I have worked with adolescents and families working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, school refusal and behavioral issues. I have helped adults grow and learn to strengthen themselves and attain the goals they are seeking.
